Scout Sunday

The annual DCCS-DGH Scout Sunday observance is usually the first Sunday in February; check the calendar for the exact date. All Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII religious emblems are presented; so too are the Bishop Morkovsky Award and the Bishop's Trophy. Of course, families are invited and encouraged to attend!

This year's Scout Sunday awards ceremony will be held Sunday February 5, 2012 at Strake Jesuit, 8900 Bellaire Blvd, Houston (not quite 1 mile east of the West Sam Houston Tollway), beginning at 1:00 PM. Click here for a printable PDF map. Msgr. George Sheltz, the archdiocesan Chancellor, will be presiding.

Scouts should arrive in full uniform at the Parsley Center (click here for an aerial photograph of the campus with key buildings labeled) no later than 12:30 PM -- with a neckerchief slide! The ceremony will likely last two hours -- there are lots of awards to present!

There will be a reception following the ceremony at which refreshments will be served.
